Two-wheelers stolen

Sujan Saha of Guwahati, Assam, lodged a complaint that on February 8 early morning, miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle from Keating Road, Shillong.
Bijoy Lal Dutta lodged a complaint that on February 8, he found that miscreant(s) stole his scooter (ML-05AB-8083) from Upper Demseiniong, Shillong.
Nitish Singh lodged a complaint that on February 8, circa 8.30 pm, miscreant(s) stole his scooter (ML-05V-7103) from Nongmensong Dongkadiang, Shillong.
Nilutpol Bora of Ratanipathar village, Assam, lodged a complaint that on January 10 early morning, miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (AS-23AH-1399) from Nongmensong Dongkadiang, Shillong.
Nageswar Hajong lodged a complaint that on February 8, miscreant(s) stole his scooter (ML-13A-7346) from Mendipathar Bazar in North Garo Hills.

Heroin found in car; driver held

On February 9, around 9 am, police conducted checking at Mawiong, ISBT Tri-junction and intercepted a Maruti Swift (AS-25AC-9818) with an occupant identified as Sunil Das (24). From his possession, a soap box containing 10.56 grams of suspected heroin was recovered. Police arrested the accused.

Group held with arms; 4 arrested

On February 9, around 4.45 pm, police intercepted two vehicles with registration number ML-05AA-7184 along with two occupants Mossingstar Nongbri (28) and Pynshailang Puweiñ (31), and another vehicle with registration ML-15-1319 carrying three occupants Aidonsing Nongsiej (41), Orally Khardewsaw (35) and Wanrilang Nongkynrih (33) at Mawsynram, East Khasi Hills. During checking, police recovered a Russian-made pistol, a magazine containing four ammunitions, six mobile phones, three EPICs, two PAN cards, a driving licence, an identity card of National Hynñiewtrep People, an Aadhaar card and an identity card of Ministry of Defence from their possession. After seizing both the vehicles, police arrested the accused persons.

Goldsmith dupes woman

A woman from a locality in Tura lodged a complaint that on February 24 last year, one Biswajit Topadar, a proprietor of Ujjala Jewelry, duped her of Rs 50,000, in a deal to make gold necklace, and fled away.

Burglary

On February 9, between 12 am and 2 am, miscreant(s) stole several gold and silver ornaments from a jewelry shop at Nidanpur market in West Garo Hills.

Duped

A female resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that on January 14, 2025, around 4.16 pm, she made a payment of Rs 75,000 to one Pynshai Puweiñ via GPay in a deal to provide her a Maruti Alto 800 car. However, the vehicle has not been delivered till date and when she attempted to contact him, she found that her phone number has been blocked and realised that she has been cheated.

Cattle theft

Jopborlang Songthiang lodged a complaint that on February 9 morning, he found that miscreant(s) stole six heads of cattle from his cowshed at Mawblang village, East Khasi Hills.
