Shillong, May 12:The Meghalaya Swimming Association has officially announced the dates for the 18th State Aquatic Championship (Swimming), which will be held from May 30 to 31, 2025, at the Crinoline Swimming Pool in Shillong.
The two-day championship will see swimmers from across the state compete in various age categories, including Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior divisions.
The competition is expected to witness intense action and enthusiastic participation from budding and seasoned swimmers alike.
The event will feature three main categories: Sub-Junior (Group III) for boys and girls aged 11 to 12, born in 2013 or 2014; Junior Group, which includes Group I for participants aged 15 to 17 (born in 2008, 2009, or 2010) and Group II for those aged 13 to 14 (born in 2011 or 2012); and the Senior category, an open division for boys and girls aged 14 and above, born in 2011 or earlier.
Participants will compete in various swimming styles including Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, and Individual Medley, along with Freestyle and Medley relays. Distances range from 50m to 200m depending on the age group.
Registration for the event will be conducted exclusively online and will be open from May 15 to May 20, 2025. No entries will be accepted after the deadline.
Seniors wishing to participate in more than one category must complete separate registrations.
