LONDON: New Wimbledon champion Andy Murray has thanked Sir Alex Ferguson for his Wimbledon success, adding that the legend told him to concentrate throughout the match for consistency.

According to the Daily Express, Murray revealed on Monday that this was one of the vital pieces of advice he received from the fellow-Scot, which he said was ‘gold dust’.

The report said that the former Manchester United manager had become an avid follower of Murray’s career, though he was not at the Wimbledon final because he was on a holiday cruise off the Scottish coast.

Ferguson said that it was the same thing he had followed with his career, along with a few more tactical moves, which he passed on to Andy Murray. (Agencies)
