Militants killed in violence in Pakistan

Peshawar: Four security personnel were injured and at least two militants were killed in separate attacks in Pakistan’s restive northwest on Wednesday.

Militants targeted a vehicle of the Khasadar militia with an IED in Jamrud area of Khyber Agency, injuring two security personnel. Officials of the political administration of Khyber Agency said the IED was planted on the Pakistan-Afghanistan highway near a check post. In a separate incident, at least two militants were killed and as many policemen injured when dozens of Taliban fighters stormed an check post in a remote area of Bannu district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province early this morning. According to police, the militants fired 12 to15 rockets at the post, after which the policemen retaliated. (PTI)
