SHILLONG: The National People’s Party (NPP) has alleged that the Agreed Text of Settlement signed by the Union and State governments and the two factions of ANVC was incomplete since it does not mention anything about rehabilitation and accommodation of the surrendered cadres. Speaking to media persons here in the city on Friday, NPP Spokesperson James Sangma slammed the State Government for not coming up with any financial package for the former cadres. The party also questioned how the government would approach other outfits for peace talks if it cannot provide financial package to ANVC cadres.
The NPP also feared that there would be reactions in Garo Hills if the former cadres were not provided financial packages under the agreement.

The party also came down heavily on Chief Minister Mukul Sangma for allegedly backtracking from his statement in the Assembly that “the situation has not improved after the signing of the agreement”.The NPP questioned why the Chief Minister was claiming otherwise when he himself had claimed in the Assembly that the situation had not improved.‘State Govt ignoring Garo Hills flood victims’The NPP has alleged that the Congress-led MUA-II Government in Meghalaya was not pursuing the matter of flood relief in Garo Hills with the Union Government  and asked the government to take up the matter with the right earnest.
NPP Spokesperson James Sangma also claimed that governance in the State had been crippled due to the absence of the Chief Minister and other ministers for extended periods.
