Labourers’ death: Assam to ask M’laya to hand over case to CBI

Guwahati: The Assam government will request the Meghalaya government to hand over the case of death of 14 labourers in Meghalaya, due to purported food poisoning, to the CBI.
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will request the Meghalaya government to hand over the case of the death of some labourers of Assam in Meghalaya to the Central Bureau of Investigation, an official statement from Assam said on Saturday.
Expressing his empathy with the bereaved families, Gogoi announced a cash assistance of one lakh rupees to the next of kin of the deceased. (UNI)
