Shangri-La Cosplay festival held in Shillong

Shillong: Asian confluence and NEOtakus organised a two-day Shangri-La Cosplay festival on the premises of Asian Confluence in the city on January 20 and 21 to promote Indo-Japan relations.
Chakbi Lombi was announced as the preliminary winner at the  Shangri-La festival and will also get a chance to represent the country, after further screening at a National level, for the World Cosplay Summit in Japan.
Bandame Lyndem, NEOtakus’ team organiser, said the event generated overwhelming buzz and response from the public and it has definitely led to a larger cultural exchange and reception of the pop culture in the North East.
Famous cosplayers from Arunachal Pradesh Juno Pinggam and Chiichi Gichik were judges.
They will represent India in the upcoming World Cosplay Summit 2017 to be held at Nagoya in Japan this August.
