SHILLONG: The State Government has decided to wait for the Union Government to launch a new policy before announcing its Education Policy.Speaking to reporters recently, School Education and Literacy Minister Deborah Marak said the State Policy has to be in line with the National Policy and hence the delay. “The department is already working towards formulating an education policy that would benefit each and every sector of education,” she said. There has been a growing demand from NGOs and teachers’ bodies for an education policy at the earliest.
