JHADC super market project awaits DoNER installment

JOWAI: The JHADC is still waiting for the second installment from the Ministry of DoNER for completion of the the Iawmusiang Super Market Complex which was initiated in 2001.
The JHADC has received the first installment of Rs. 6.33 crore of the total Rs 20 crore sanctioned for the project. Informing this during the budget session of the council on Thursday, EM in charge CWD, Hollando Lamin said, “An escalation in the project budget has led the DoNER to ask for clarification on the excess amount sought.” He added that the council members met DoNER officials on the issue in New Delhi and the Ministry sent its official for spot inspection.
Trading licences
The JHADC has issued trading licences to 135 non tribals in Jowai and 1038 in Ladrymbai.
EM in charge KM Lytan said this in the House in reply to a question by the lone opposition member Marki Mulieh. Mulieh was  surprised to know that the JHADC has failed to revise the fees of the trading  license from 1977 till 2015. Lytan said that the JHADC had also issued the trading licenses to non tribals for the kind of trades that local people can also undertake.
Meanwhile, JHADC chief, Thombor Shiwat introduced  JH Autonomous District (Administration of Justice) Bill, 2017. A resolution was moved by Shiwat for creation of a new Elaka- which is an upgradation of the only Sumer Patorship. The new Elaka will be created by carving out of Raliang Elaka.
