Child care asks relatives to claim infant

SHILLONG: The abandoned infant that was found at the residence of Diona Nongkling at Nongmensong, Langkyrding, Shillong on June 7, is now under the care and protection of the ‘Lawei Baphyrnai’ Specialised Adoption Agency.
The baby boy was abandoned by his mother.
The child care has urged any person/ relatives having information of any sort regarding the infant to contact the following concerned Offices, Office of the District Child Protection Unit Lachumiere, East Khasi Hills, Contact No. 0364-2502310, Child Welfare Committee, Lachumiere and ‘Lawei Baphyrnai’ Specialized Adoption Agency, Mawklot, Shillong Contact No. 9612760415, and claim the child within 60 days from this day of publication, failing of which the child will be declared legally free for adoption.
