SHILLONG: A team of city police has left for Kolkata to arrest the officer in charge of Mawngap police station who is facing rape charges.
East Khasi Hills SP Davis Marak said an FIR was filed on Wednesday in which a woman has alleged that she was raped by the police officer on the night of February 2 in her tea shop in an area called Lawai.
“The OC is currently in Kolkata for training and Shillong police have sent a team there to arrest the accused,” Marak added.
