Recruitment rally
The Indian Air Force will conduct a recruit-ment rally for candidates from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya and Manipur for the post of Airmen in Group-Y trades at Air Force Station Borjhar, Guwahati in Assam from September 1 to 5. The candidates should have passed intermediate 10+2 equivalent examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central/State Education Boards with minimum 50 per cent marks in aggregate and 50 per cent marks in English and the candidates should be born between July 14, 1998 and June 26, 2002 both days inclusive. Local holiday
The Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills has declared September 18 as local holidays on account of Unitarian Anniversary Day. All State Government Offices, Revenue and Magisterial Court and educational institutions in the district will remain closed.

Rice released
The DC (Supply), West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has informed that that the Antyodaya Anna Yojna, Priority House Hold and Non-NFSA quota of rice for the month of August and sugar for the months of  October, November and December 2017 has been released and is available from all F.P shops.
