CLP meet calls for unity among state legislators

SHILLONG: The meeting of the Congress Legislature Party held in the presence of AICC general secretary in charge Meghalaya Luizinho Faleiro on Monday night stressed the need for ensuring unity in the party.
Congress spokesperson HM Shangpliang said on Tuesday that while the legislators who attended the meeting reiterated the need to have unity in the party, the AICC leader advised the MLAs to have the spirit of unity and cooperation as the party is preparing for the district council and the Lok Sabha elections.
Faleiro told the MLAs to serve the people in whatever capacity thay can.
Congress Legislature Party leader Mukul Sangma, while welcoming Faleiro to the state after he was again made the AICC general secretary in-charge Meghalaya, assured unity among MLAs.
The Congress legislators have also decided to raise several issues concerning the people of the state during the upcoming Assembly session starting from September 21.
Earlier, Faleiro had written to the state party functionaries to hold meetings at booth, block, district and state levels to revamp the party.
