27th Senior Natl Wushu C’ship underway in city

SHILLONG: The 27th Senior National Wushu (Men & Women) Championship commenced at Assam Regimental Centre on October 10, 2018. A total of 38 teams of various States/ Union Territories/ Mil/ Para Mil to include 610 Men players and 292 Women players participated in the opening ceremony. India has won four bronze medals in the Asian games within the comparatively short time and that the game has found popular following in the country. With high hopes for inclusion of Wushu in the 2020 or the 2024 Olympics, I am sure that this pool of talented sportsmen in front of us will bring us great victories and laurels in the years to come.
