International Applied Environmental Education Course in Assam, India

GUWAHATI: Aaranyak and Environmental Education and Conservation Global (USA) in association with its partners are organising a three-week training programme: “International Applied Environmental Education Course” during 28th January to 17th February 2019 in Assam, India.

The course will demonstrate how environmental social marketing techniques can be integrated with overall education and communication strategies to produce effective and practical tools for solving environmental problems. It will also create deeper understanding about services of ecosystems. It will cover research and theory on education for different audiences; educational techniques and strategies for different issues and audiences; programme and campaign planning and implementation; communication strategies; environmental social marketing techniques; media production—theory and design; techniques for building support and obtaining resources for education campaigns; programme/project evaluation and monitoring.

The course will be held in Guwahati and will include fieldwork inManas Tiger Reserve at the foothills of Bhutan and Kaziranga National Park, Assam.It may be mentioned that this course is being organized under the Manas Tiger Conservation Programme (MTCP) of Aaranyak through which various conservation educational initiatives are being implemented in the fringe villages of the Manas National Park to increase the awareness of the public on conservation of Manas National Park and its biodiversity.

The MTCP is led by Aaranyak and being implemented in partnership with the Forest Department BTC, Wildlife Conservation Trust, Panthera and Awely, is actively working towards improvement of protection, conservation and community wellbeing in Manas National Park and its fringe areas.

Course fee for Individual Participant is USD525 or INR 35000 and Institutional Participant USD1025 or INR 68000. Few deserving local applicants may be offered scholarship based on budget availability.
