TURA: SSA school teachers from Garo Hills whose salaries have been kept pending yet again for over three months now have urged the state government to release the same at the earliest.

The teachers under the All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers’ Association called on the MDA Government to release the salaries of November and December 2018 and January 2019 within this week.

“Why do SSA teachers always have to raise their voice to get their own salaries? Even after education has been given the top priority, it feels like the government is not really concerned about us. Although we are not given regular salary, the government uses us for other works in connection with the election department and the medical department, which is a burden to us,” the association said.

Besides appealing to the government for early release of their three months pending salaries, the teachers urged that they are not made to undertake election duties or other works concerned with the medical department in the future.
