2 dead, scores injured after vehicle falls into gorge

TURA: Two persons were killed and 18 others belonging to a wedding party sustained injuries when the Bolero pick up truck they were travelling on lost control and fell into a gorge in South Garo Hills on Thursday morning.
According to police, the incident occurred at 11:30 in the morning when the Bolero (Ml08 5824) packed with villagers from Ramchenga village were heading for a wedding to Wachalgre village.
The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle at Buga Dongram village and plunged into a 30 meter depth gorge.
One of the passengers identified as Krit Ch Sangma of Wachalgre village was killed on the spot while 18 others were grievously injured.
Villagers helped to rush the accident victims to the nearest health centre at Sibbari where another injured  youth Chikam Ch Momin (13) of Ramchenga passed away.
Police informed that 10 of the injured were admitted at Sibbari health centre and five others who were critical have been taken to Tura Civil Hospital.
