Boy fatally knocked down
On April 13 around 2 pm, a pick-up truck (ML-10B-8098) driven by Kitborlan L Nonglait (25) fatally knocked down a seven-year-old boy, Medangiajop Hoojon at Lawrynjam village in West Khasi Hills.

Pedestrian injured
On April 16 around 12.15 pm a motorcycle (AS-01BA-8499) knocked down one unidentified pedestrian at 15th Mile, Byrnihat (Ri Bhoi). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to GMC Hospital, Guwahati.

Fire incident
On April 14 around 12.30 pm, fire broke out in the house of Shaniah Sariang at Lakadong village under Garampani Out Post West Jaintia Hills. As a result, the house was completely gutted. Loss of property is estimated at Rs. 6/7 lakh.

Missing boy’s body found
On April 14, body of a six-year-old boy was found floating in the water near the stone crusher at Rani Moirapur, Khanapara (RB). During enquiry, it was found that the boy was missing since April 12 and is believed to have drowned while taking a bath.

16-year-old missing
On April 14 Chinta Das lodged a complaint that on April 14 at about 10 am, her 16-year-old son went out of her house at Mawblei and did not return home since then.

Timber smuggling
On April 14 around 12.20 am, while conducting vehicle checking at Ladumsaw (RB), police detected two trucks (RJ-50JA-1943 & UP-15DT-3397) transporting sawn timbers. During enquiry, documents which were produced by the truckers were found to be faked and the timbers are suspected to have been stolen from Government Forests.

Theft cases
On April 12, Elario Kharkongor broke into the house of Margret Biolinda Kharkongor at Nongrim Road, Laitumkhrah and stole clothes and money.
On the night of April 11, miscreants broke into the shop of Joyfullu Malngiang at Mawlai Umjaiur and stole cigarettes, cash Rs. 900 and others.

Bike meant for sale missing
Rabithson B Marak lodged a complaint that on April 11 at about 7. 44 pm, he made an arrangement with one unknown person through OLX, wherein the complainant agreed to sell his motorcycle to the unknown person for Rs. 52,000. Accordingly, the complainant met the unknown person at A’konggre Junction, Tura and handed the motorcycle over to the person for a test ride. However, after taking the motorcycle for a test ride, the unknown person never returned the motorcycle to the complainant and his whereabouts is not known till date.

New motorcycle missing
Abdul Rashid Deai lodged a complaint that on April 13 around 2.19 pm, his new motorcycle (A/F) was found missing from Patijora village under Zikzak Out Post in South West Garo Hills.

NEHU episode
Gino A Sangma, Proctor, NEHU Campus, Tura, West Garo Hills lodged a complaint that on April 7 around 3.15 pm, seven persons claiming to be members of NEHUSU Shillong Genuica Majaw, President, Amon D Arengh, Vice President and others pelted stones at the residence of Pro-Vice Chancellor, NEHU Campus Tura, West Garo Hills causing damage to the residence. The complainant was out of station and his wife was inside the quarter when the incident took place. The security on duty was also threatened when he tried to stop them. On the same day around 4 pm, the same group of people assaulted seven workers who were engaged at a construction site.
