ONGC to reimburse TA for appearing in CBT on the re-scheduled date

GUWAHATI: In response to ONGC advertisement No. 01/2019, for recruitment of 308 numbers of non-executive posts at Assam, 31290 candidates, having domicile of Assam, are appearing in the online computer based test, being conducted through an experienced independent agency.

ONGC is overwhelmed to receive the record numbers of applicants willing to join the Maharatna in its endeavor to make the country energy secured. Considering the huge number of applicants, Computer Based Test (CBT) is being held in twelve (12) centers situated across six (6) cities viz. Sivasagar, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, Guwahati and Silchar of Assam scheduled between June 14 t0 19, 2019. 

Due to technical difficulties, online computer based test (CBT) could not be conducted smoothly on June  14, 2019 in two centers at Guwahati and one at Jorhat, according to an ONGC communique.

ONGC expresses its concern for the inconvenience caused due to the technical difficulties at three examination centers; (1) Assam Online – Guwahati, (2) GATE – Guwahati and (3) Global Engineering Academy – Jorhat during the ongoing computer based test. 

ONGC is taking all possible measures to ensure smooth conduct of the said examination and decision has been taken to  reimburse travelling allowance for appearing in CBT on the re-scheduled date to the candidates who could not appear due to technical difficulties. Re-scheduled date, time and venue will be communicated in due course of time.

Computer Based Test (CBT), is the maiden initiative of the company in Assam as a commitment towards Digital India and to reduce carbon footprint by adopting paperless initiatives, which would also ensure transparency and minimize manual intervention. 

Besides shouldering its prime responsibility to ensure ‘Energy Security’ of the Nation, ONGC has always trying to contribute towards welfare of the society. Reiterating its Commitment as a ‘Partner in Progress’ of the State ONGC provided employment to 1486 number of local youth in last few years and recruitment process for another 308 Nos. of non-executive posts is underway.
