Two child labourers rescued

Hailakandi: Two minor children working as domestic helps were rescued in Hailakandi district of south Assam in a special drive, official sources here said on Friday. The police have registered cases against the offenders for engaging minor children as domestic help. The children were rescued on Thursday by the District Level Task Force Committee comprising Labour Department, District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committee, Child Line and police personnel, the sources said. Earlier, eight minor children working as bonded labourers were rescued last month. (PTI)
