Duo organises event in UK to showcase culture

SHILLONG: A multicultural event has been organised in the United Kingdom (UK) on August 3 by one Pammy Das, resident of Laban and Gairika Mathur, resident of Agartala.
Both are temporarily residing in UK.
Three countries, namely, India, Nepal and Bangladesh were brought together in the programme to showcase their respective cultures in front of the British populace.
Mayor of Swindon Kevin Parry presided as the chief guest of the programme besides special guests — former Mayor of Swindon Junab Ali, Deputy Director, Nehru Centre Cultural wing of High Commission of India Brij. K. Guhare, Internal Audit Manager, Office of Mayor of London Policing & Crime Satya Minhas.
Madhurima Choudhury, a TV actress from Assam and a Bihu dancer, Chinu Kishore helped to showcase Assam in the event.
