New Delhi: Taking on the Narendra Modi government over bail to the Pulwama attack conspiracy accused as the National Investigation Agency (NIA) failed to file charge-sheet within the stipulated time, the Congress, here on Thursday, expressed dismay at the working of intelligence agencies.
“Intelligence in Pathankot, Uri, Pulwama proved lacking. The Modi government’s intelligence system is weak. The investigative agencies are weak. What kind of government they are running,” said senior Congress leader Pawan Khera.
The Modi government called itself nationalist and was allowing bail to a terrorist from a notorious terrorist organisation, like Jaish-e-Mohammed, he said and added, was not that treason.
Taking a potshot at the former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief and Home Minister, Khera said, Amit Shah followed a pattern — get some one out on bail and give him/her the party ticket.
“Maybe Yusuf Chopan gets a ticket too?” the Congress leader said.
“This bail happened because evidence was not gathered and the charge-sheet not filed,” Khera said.
Forty Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, travelling in a convoy on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, were killed on February 14, 2019 when a suicide bomber rammed a explosives-laden car into their bus.
Banned terror outfit JeM claimed the responsibility and even released a video of the purported attacker. (IANS)
