Shillong: In India freedom is embedded in the system but our society imposes too many restriction (don’ts) thereby pushing our youth to be rebellious, Deputy Chief Minister, in charge of Sports and Youth Affairs, BM Lanong said. Mr Lanong was addressing the inaugural function of the one day workshop on Familiarization and Integration with North East organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and NSS Unit-North Eastern Hills University at Science Centre Hall NEHU Campus as a part of the ongoing 2nd North East Youth Festival here on Friday.

Lanong said the death rate of young people in the country is very high, said State Deputy Chief Minister in charge of Sports and Youth Affairs, Bindo M Lanong adding that the main reason for this is due to lack of discipline and self control.
