NEW DELHI: With the Cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, the existing anomalies in the Meghalaya Congress would be straightened out, according to AICC sources.

Though the Chief Minister got the AICC clearance to continue in office much earlier, he got the AICC nod for the proposed reshuffle only on Saturday night.

He had to cancel his departure for Shillong on Sunday since the clearance was not available in writing in absence of AICC general secretary in-charge of the State Dr Dhaniram Shandil, who rushed from his home state Himachal Pradesh in the morning.

Talking to The Shillong Times, Dr Shandil said the announcement for ending the stalemate would be made in Shillong.

He, meanwhile, confirmed about his scheduled meeting on Tuesday with the aggrieved legislators who have been camping here since Saturday.

The dissidents who were critical of the AICC top leaders dealing with the political crisis in the State, denied that they are engaged in anti-party activities.

“All of us have full faith in the leadership of Madam Sonia Gandhi and apprising her of the grievances is like airing protest within the family,” one of the dissident leaders said.

The dissidents led by DD Lapang have submitted written request to Ms Gandhi again for a personal appointment besides with her political secretary Ahmed Patel.

They had met the AICC trio several times during their earlier visits to the capital, but failed to meet Madam.
