Mukul aides rewarded

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on Tuesday rewarded with additional portfolios those who were loyal to him including those who have abandoned the dissident camp.

Forest and Environment Minister Prof RC Laloo has been given additional charge of Education and Food and Civil Supplies departments, official sources informed on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, lone woman legislator of the State Ampareen Lyngdoh has been relieved of the Education and Tourism departments and has been allotted with Urban, Municipal Affairs, Housing. She would also function as MUDA Chairman.

Official sources also informed that Sutnga-Shangpung Congress legislator Shitlang Pale has been given the charge of PHE department.

BJP turned Congress legislator AL Hek has been given the charge of General Administration Department (GAD), Water Resources and Information and Technology.

Meanwhile, first time Congress legislator Saleng A Sangma has been allotted with Community and Rural Development (C&RD) and PWD (Building) departments.
