Border issue

SHILLONG: The Hynnie-wtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) has demanded for filing of the report of the joint committee on the inter-state boundary issue with Assam within two weeks.

In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Secretary WMS Pariat here on Tuesday, the HANM alleged that Assam has advanced around two kilometres into Khanduli in Jaintia Hills and even placed signboard for road construction.

It also alleged that the neighbouring state has erected boundary posts at Phulbari six km inside Meghalaya’s territory.
