NEW DELHI: Indian Davis Cupper Rohan Bopanna and his Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi rallied from a set down to advance to the semifinals of Gerry Weber Open with a 4-6, 7-6 (5), 10-4 victory over Dustin Brown of Germany and France’s Gael Monfils at Halle, Germany on Thursday.

The “Indo-Pak Express”, top seed in the Euro 7,50,000 grass court tournament, was taken by surprise by its unseeded opponents who broke Bopanna and Qureshi once to run away with the first set comfortably.

However, Bopanna and Qureshi managed to get their act together and bounced back in the second set before wrapping the match in the deciding third set.

Bopanna and Qureshi will take on winners of the match between the German duo C Kas and P Kohlschreiber and Finland’s Jarkko Nieminen and Viktor Troicki of Serbia. (PTI)
