Foundation stone

The foundation stone for the construction of the permanent building of Mairang Presbyterian Science College was laid on Friday by Prof RC Laloo, Minister of Education, West Khasi Hills at Mairang. Prof Laloo inaugurated the Mutong Irrigation Dam on Thursday at Madiah Kmaiblai, Jowai in the presence of Government dignitaries and other organisation members.

Child Labour Day

The Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Government of Meghalaya will observe Child Labour Day at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills at 11 am on Saturday.

Dialysis unit

Dr H Gordon Roberts Hospital will inaugurate a dialysis unit at the hospital hall at 11.30 am on Tuesday. As chief guest Dr Mukul Sangma will inaugurate the unit.

New committee

The Seng Kur Thangkhiew Lai-Kpoh on June 3, elected a new body for the 2011 to 2016 term with Markhiador Thangkhiew as president, Valentino Thangkhiew as vice president, Gagaficia Thangkhiew as general secretary.

HIV/AIDS prog

The Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre, Ganesh Das Hospital is organising a Sensitisation Programme on HIV/ AIDS for para-medical and non-medical staff at the conference hall of the hospital at 9 am on Wednesday and Thursday next.

BSF programme

The 98 Bn BSF conducted a civic action programme in Ratachera village, Jaintia Hills district in which they handed stationary school items to the various schools in the village.
