JOWAI: The All Jaintia Youth Welfare Organisation has demanded immediate appointment of the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) in the State in which the post has been lying vacant for several months after the retirement of the former CIC, GP Wahlang.

The AJYWO expressed concerned over the non-appointment of the new CIC. “The Right to Information (RTI) Act 2005 cannot be implemented without the chief and the Government should immediately appoint a new CIC”, the AJYWO stated.
