5 hurt in 3 road mishaps

SHILLONG: Five persons were injured in three separate road mishaps in the State in the last 24 hours.

A truck (ASO1T – 5787), on its way to Shillong from Guwahati, had a head-on collision with another truck at Umdihar, Ri Bhoi district on Monday. Pynshngain Nongsap (25), Khrawkupar Kharnaior (26) and Hitesh Dauri (15) received injuries in the accident. Three were later shifted to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for treatment.

In another accident, one Tyngshain Sna (38) sustained injuries when he fell off a moving truck on the national highway, near the Sales Tax office at Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi district on Monday.

Meanwhile, the handyman of a truck, on its way to Guwahati, sustained injury when he fell off the vehicle near the weigh bridge at Umling, Ri Bhoi district on Sunday night.

The injured person –Sohidur Ali (20)– was later shifted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital for treatment.
