NEW DELHI: AICC leaders in-charge of Meghalaya — Dhaniram Shandil and Sanjay Bapna — will reach Shillong on Tuesday to boost the party’s campaign against “forces” like that of Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare.
They will address meetings to spread the party and Government’s message about “such so-called civil society representatives”.
From Meghalaya, the duo would leave for Mizoram the next day and return to the capital on Friday.
Union minister Vincent Pala would also accompany the two leaders to Shillong.
“We will be travelling to North-East to address media and public meetings on the prevailing political situation in the country,” a party statement said.
Meanwhile, the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has called meetings of its executive body and general body during the AICC leaders’ visit on Wednesday.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma will arrive here on Tuesday to attend the annual meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) on Thursday. Governor Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary who is also a member of the NEC has already arrived for the meeting.
