Pale inaugurates Nongspung water supply scheme

SHILLONG: PHE Minister Shitlang Pale on Thursday inaugurated the Nongspung Water Supply Scheme at Syiemlieh village under Nongspung constituency.

Pale in his speech lauded the untiring efforts of the PHE department for fulfilling the dreams of the people of the area.

He said that the government is doing its best in providing safe drinking water to the people of the state and urged upon the people to work hand in hand with the government for overall development of the area and the state as a whole. He also informed that the scheme was sanctioned in the year 2009 at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore.

The Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh on the other hand said with the implementation of the new water scheme, the whole of Nongspung area would get adequate water that would help the local populace. He lauded the efforts of the local MLA and PHE department.

Echoing him, JA Lyngdoh said the people of the area would have sufficient water with the implementation of the scheme.

Others who spoke on the occasion were K Khyriem besides SDO of PHE department and BDO of the area.
