SHILLONG: The State Government will take a call on the recent fuel and LPG price hike to see what could be done to reduce the pressure on the common people.

“We will take a holistic view of the matter and see that the hike is not transferred to the end users or consumers,” Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma told this reporter on Sunday evening.

Stating that his Government was concerned about the fuel price hike and how it is going to adversely affect the common man, Dr Sangma said, “The Government is equally concerned about how this recent fuel price hike will hit the consumers. We will take a considered view on how to absorb some of the pressure so that the consumer does not bear the brunt,” Dr Sangma said on the eve of his departure for Hyderabad.

It is learnt that the Chief Minister is making a quick trip to Hyderabad for a health check-up.
