Shillong: One, Gaurav Lama (25), resident of Jhalupara, was caught by the Excise Department officers on Tuesday after he was found impersonating to be a journalist, claiming to be a reporter of The Shillong Times.

The incident happened when the officers and staff of the Excise department were conducting a raid on illicit liquor dens in the area.

According to sources, the imposter barged into an illicit liquor den where the raid was being conducted with a pen and a paper. When confronted by press persons present in the scene, Lama changed his tone and was immediately apprehended by the Excise personnel.

Lama was later handed over to police.
