Journalist passes away

SHILLONG: Noted journalist and columnist Gean W Lyngdoh passed away at his residence at Mission Compound here on Wednesday.

A former editor of a vernacular daily, Lyngdoh was also associated with The Shillong Times several years ago. He was a working as a journalist in the KHADC till the time of death.

The funeral will be held at Mission Cemetery on Thursday.

In a condolence message, the Meghalaya Editor’s & Publisher’s Association (MEPA) said with Bah Gean’s death newspaper publication fraternity has lost a very sober man who had served fourth estate faithfully and to the best of his ability.

A former general secretary of MEPA, Lyngdoh was one of the founding members of the Association and also of the Shillong Press Club.
