Shillong: The KSU Raid Laban Circle has accused Keating Road Welfare Organization (KRWO) of illegally issuing residential certificates to people living in the Keating road area despite the presence of the Keating Road Dorbar Shnong.

The Union recently, in a raid, seized documents, which revealed that residential certificates were issued to two persons – Anju Devi and Subodh Roywas – on June 22 by KRWO general secretary JL Das and deputy headman of Keating Road H Laskar.

It may be mentioned that on June 13, the KHADC had recognised Rang Dondor Blah as the Rangbah Shnong of the Greater Keating Road Dorbar Shnong and the same was endorsed by the Syiem of Hima Mylliem who constituted the Dorbar and provided sanad (authority) to Blah to function as the headman.

“This is a clear violation of the rules and regulations of the KHADC and it is a mark of disrespect shown to the local traditional body,” the KSU said.
