London: Twenty-four-year-old leggy Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova believes in setting goals for herself and evolving as the years go by, and is most unlikely to opt for a quiet life after retiring from the game. “I”m a few years older now and more mature – or at least I hope so. You learn, you grow over the years. You develop as a player but as a person as well. I”ve gone through many more things in my life and career,” the Sun quoted Sharapova, as saying. “Tennis is a big part of my life but at the end of the day I”m not going to be playing for my whole life. Tennis can only take you to a certain point in your life,” she added. “My parents have been through so much with me. No matter how good or bad the times have been, they”ve kept me at a certain level. They”ve taught me so much in life. I want to explore life, there are many other other things in life as well that I”d want to do,” Sharapova said. Sharapova is engaged to basketball star Sasha Vujacic. (ANI)
‘New Blues boss will stay for years’
London: Chelsea star Petr Cech is backing new boss Andre Villas-Boas to build a dynasty that would rival Alex Ferguson”s at Old Trafford. The 33-year-old Portuguese coach is keeper Cech”s sixth manager in seven eventful years at Stamford Bridge. “Now we have a young manager who can hopefully stay for 25 years like Ferguson at Manchester United. It would be great to have that continuity here,” the Sun quoted Cech, as saying. “Andre is a great choice. He is young and he has proved that he can manage a big club to success. He knows English football and he knows our club – that will be a massive help,” he added. “We know him and he knows us from the time when he was here with Jose Mourinho. Andre did a fantastic job then with all his analysis of our opponents which I always found a big, big help. And I”m sure he will do a fantastic job again,” Cech said. (ANI)
