Roseau (Dominica): West Indies were all out for 204 just before tea on the second day of the third and final cricket Test against India here on Thursday.

Earlier, India held the upper hand despite Darren Bravo’s battling unbeaten half-century as West Indies went to lunch at 128 for five.

Resuming at their overnight score of 75 for three after rain had delayed the start by 45 minutes, the hosts added 53 runs from 23 overs in the first session after Praveen Kumar and Munaf Patel picked up a wicket each.

Bravo looked like the only batsman, who seemed to be offering some sort of resistance.

The Trinidadian left-hander has so far faced 124 balls for his 41, and hit six fours.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Carlton Baugh was giving Bravo company on 18.

Runs were difficult to come by for the hosts after rain had reduced the opening day’s play to just 31.1 overs.

Overnight rain and a damp pitch made both Bravo and Shivnarine Chanderpaul circumspect against the pair of Munaf and Ishant.

Little happened as balls either went past the bat or were played defensively till the sixth over of the morning when Bravo played Sharma into covers for an attempted single.

Chanderpaul gave away early and protested with his partner after Abhinav Mukund had missed the stumps from point.

Munaf played the perfect back-up seamer and bottled one end up before a delivery left Chanderpaul on the seam and took the edge to wicketkeeper Dhoni.

Chanderpaul made 23 from 59 balls with one fours.

This is the left-hander’s fourth score, which is below 40, in the last five innings of the series.

New man Marlon Samuels was given a torrid reception by Munaf with two short-pitched deliveries, one of which slammed the peak of the batsman’s helmet.

A rattled Samuels very nearly edged the next delivery into the hands of the gully fielder.

Samuels then decided to hit his way out of trouble and smashed two fours off Munaf, one a drive past long-off and the other, a scorching cover drive in the same over. (PTI)
