London: Daniel Radcliffe’s role in the Harry Potter franchise turned him into a star, but the actor will not play the same character again as he feels the boy wizard’s story has ended in a “perfect way”.

“I’m the only person in the world that doesn’t want there to be an eighth Harry Potter book,” he told Star magazine.

“Believe me, I’ve given 10 years – I can! I think it’s been an amazing 10 years and I would be quite happy for it to finish at this point because the stories were rounded off in such a succinct and perfect way,” said the actor who will be seen in the last installment “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2”, which is releasing Friday.

The 21-year-old, who started his journey with the franchise in 2001 with “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”, however, admits he will always be “proud” of his work on the movie series, reports contactmusic.com. (IANS)

Dad told me to be free: Ricky Martin

London: Pop singer Ricky Martin says that his parents reacted positively when he told them he was homosexual.

The 39-year-old Puerto Rican, who became a dad to twins Matteo and Valentino through a surrogate mother in August 2008, ended years of speculation about his sexuality in 2010 when he came out as homosexual in a statement on his website, reported Hello magazine.

Although he was worried about telling his parents Nereida and Enrique, who divorced when he was two, about his lifestyle, they were fine with him being gay. “My parents had known for a long time. I was worried about their reaction when I told them, but my dad said, ‘Come here and give me a kiss.

Then go out there and be free and happy.’ “It was more difficult to come out to my family than it was to the world,” Martin said.

The ‘Livin’ la Vida Loca’ singer also said that the strong bond he has with his father was his biggest influence in his quest to be a parent himself.

“My own dad was such a good father that I wanted to pass that on to my own children. I’ve always wanted to be a daddy. It is the most amazing thing that has happened in my life,” he said. (PTI)

 No item numbers for Priyanka

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Priyanka has kept her distance from item numbers and plans to continue doing so, even as rumours arre swirling of her of agreeing to a saucy dance sequence for “Tezz”.

But the 28-year-old’s spokesperson has denied that Priyanka has signed up for any item song.

“The rumors of Priyanka doing an item number in the film are baseless and unsubstantiated.

She has not had discussions with anyone related to the film with regards to the same,” a spokesperson told.

The grapevine was abuzz that the ‘Desi girl’ will dance to a Sajid-Wajid number in Priyadarshan’s Tezz, starring Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Kangna Ranaut. But it isn’t true.

Meanwhile, she has given a nod for doing a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s mega-budget superhero film RA.One, which is set for a Diwali release. (IANS)
