NONGSTOIN: Two persons — Ramjeet Rabha (27) and Kallu Rabha (31) – who had claimed to be ULFA cadres, were apprehended by KSU members at Khyrshai village in West Khasi Hills district on Monday. “On July 8, the two Rabha youth came to Khyrshai and stayed in the village without informing the headman. After two days, the duo claiming to be ULFA members, started demanding money from all the villagers. They said they would come back to the village on July 11 to take the money,” Roddish Nongshlong, the headman, said on Tuesday. When informed, the KSU Khyrshai unit members laid a trap for the duo and caught them on Monday. They were handed over to the Border Police Outpost at Khyrshai on the same day. Nongstoin Police Station took custody of the duo on Tuesday.

Greatfullness Sohshang, president of the KSU unit, told The Shillong Times said most of the people in Khyrshai village were feeling insecure after the incident and want more security personnel at the Khyrshai Border Police Outpost whose present strength is only five.
