JOWAI: The Jaintia Students Union (JSU) has urged JHADC MDCs to settle their differences which led to the imposition of Administrative Rule three months ago.

The JSU felt if the Congress MDCs fail to end their differences, the government should dissolve the House and hold a fresh election.

“The autonomous district councils were created to safeguard the interest of the indigenous people. For the last three months, people in Jaintia Hills are suffering due to absence of the Council,” the JSU said.

The JSU further said, “the government must settle the matter immediately and offer the CEM’s post to any person whom it considers to be fit.”

Body found: Police at Phramer Traffic Cell recovered an unidentified body on the road side at Phramer village near State Bank of India on Wednesday.
