London: Pop diva Lady Gaga has been pelted with eggs during her promotional trip to Australia.

The 25-year-old singer was in the island nation to promote her latest album ‘Born This Way’, but her tour took a messy turn when pranksters hurled eggs at her as she left a nightclub in Sydney, reported Daily Star.

However, Gaga managed to escape the attack and an onlooker was hit instead of the pop star. Gaga was recently awarded with an honorary citizenship of Sydney by the state’s mayor, Clover Moore, for her support towards gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community.

In a similar incident, teen sensation Justin Bieber narrowly avoided getting hit when he was pelted with eggs during a concert at Sydney’s Acer Arena, in April this year. (PTI)
