Guwahati: Former union parliamentary affairs minister Matang Singh has been re-inducted into the Congress with immediate effect. AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh said here on Saturday that Matang Singh had met him and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Friday night in New Delhi, following which he was re-inducted. Matang was suspended from the Congress in 2000 following his “anti-party activities”. The former minister said he was happy to be back in his parent party and assured to work for the interest of the party and the state. (PTI)
