Meeting reviews security scenario

KOHIMA: A high level security meeting, called to review the security scenario in Dimapur, witnessed outpouring of concern over the menace of extortion especially in the commercial hub of here.

Official sources said here on Sunday the meeting, chaired by Nagaland Home Minister Imkong L Imchen yesterday, was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Khekiho Zhimomi and MLA and Advisor Azheto Zhimomi, the Director General of Police, K Kire, Superintendent of Police, Dimapur Z Mero, the Assam Rifles and the CRPF, Additional Chief Secretary and Nagaland Commissioner Bano Z Jamir among others.

The business community was represented in the meeting by the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and the NMDA. Representatives of Naga Council Dimapur were also present. It was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.The home minister demanded that the ‘demand notes be presented.(UNI)
