 Shillong: Circulation of the coins of the denomination of 25 paise and below has been ceased in Meghalaya, an official statement said on Monday. An official communiqué of Meghalaya Finance Economic Affairs Department said the circulation of the coins were ceased to be legal tender for payment as well as on account from June 20, last. ”Necessary action has also been taken for revising the prices of various commodities and taxes levies and bring about such consequential changes as may be necessary following withdrawal of the coins,” the statement said.
