One arrested with 400 gm of ganja

 JOWAI: The members of the Jowai-Shillong Tourist Cab Association (JSTCA) on Tuesday apprehended one person identified as Kishan Lal along with 400 grams of cannabis (ganja).

According to the JSTCA general secretary Deibormi Paswett, the association received several complaints about smuggling of ganja on Shillong-Jowai route in the past.

On Tuesday, the JSTCA members apprehended Kishan red handed while he was smoking cannabis.

Later, they recovered about 400 grams of cannabis from his shop.

He was later handed over to Jowai police.

Interestingly, police later released him following an “understanding” with the president of the JSTCA.

Rapist held: Ladrymbai Police on Monday arrested one Rom Dkhar of Wapungshnong village in Jaintia Hills for allegedly raping his niece three months ago.

According to sources, Dkhar has been absconding after committing the crime.
