DC assures action against coal dumping

 NONGSTOIN: West Khasi Hills administration has decided to take action against dumping of coal on the road side at Siejliejh village.

The decision to this effect was taken during a meeting between a delegation of KSU’s Siejlieh unit, led by its president D Wanniang and the Deputy Commissioner.

The DC assured the Union that he would order to place a ‘No entry sign board’ on the said road from July 25.

The Union also appraised to the DC about the pathetic condition of a PWD road between Nongstoin town and Civil Hospital.

The Union demanded black topping of the road. The DC assured to take necessary steps immediately in this connection.

Meanwhile the executive members of Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) Western Zone under the leadership of Wills Sohshang Vice-president met the Deputy Commissioner on July 19 in connection with non-payment of money sanctioned under the NREGS to card holders.

It is alleged the car holders have not been getting payments for the last six months.

The DC assured the organization to release all the pending payments under NREGS as soon as possible.
