Kynjing orders police to dispose of CSWO plea

 SHILLONG:The new Chief Information Commissioner CD Kynjing has asked the State police to dispose of the appeal of the CSWO pertaining to the encounter in which Fullmoon Dhar was killed within one month.

Kynjing issued this order responding to an RTI application filed by the CSWO chief Kharshiing. Kharshiing in her plea sought the details of the glock pistol allegedly used by then SP of Jaintia Hills district, Mukesh Singh, who shot Fullmoon Dhar dead in the encounter.

According to Kharshiing, the police earlier had refused to give her any information and when she approached the appellate authority of police department her appeal was not taken up as there was no appellate authority to dispose off the appeal.

The new CIC also directed the police department to designate an officer to dispose off the petition within 30 days.
