Two militants nabbed

IMPHAL:Two militants of as many organisations were held by troops and weapons recovered from them on Friday.The 39 Assam Rifles apprehended a former Zou Defence Volunteer(ZDV) member, Pausuanthang, with two pistols from Churachandpur.The individual had been to Myanmar on regular basis in garb of trade.He was apprehended by the Junta and put in jail for four months in 2010 and was later released through diplomatic channel via Moreh PIB (Defence Wing) said.Thereafter, he worked for ZDV for some time but quit the organization about five months back.The individual was carrying out extortion and threatening the villagers. He was later handed over to the Churachandpur police station along with the seized arms.In another incident troops nabbed an overground worker of United National Liberation Front (UNLF) from Sagolmang, Imphal East.
