London: Late singer Amy Winehouse’s father has been left “completely devastated” after his daughter was found dead at her apartment here.
Mitch was in US when he learned the sad news and promptly called off his gig in New York to be with family. Amy died Saturday. She was 27.
“This isn’t real. I’m completely devastated. I’m coming home. I have to be with Amy. I can’t crack up for her sake. My family needs me,” dailystar.co.uk quoted him as saying.
Amy’s mother Janis says she cannot forget the final words that her daughter said Friday, when they met.
” ‘I love you, mum’ – they are the words I will always treasure and always remember Amy by… She seemed out of it (on Friday). But her passing so suddenly still hasn’t hit me,” said Janis. (IANS)
